Doggie Birthday Card

Here's a super quick birthday card I put together for (believe it or not...) a dog!
I don't usually make birthday cards for dogs but "Jaz" holds a special place in our hearts because she and our dog "Polah" share the same dad. The two dogs enjoy playing together and Jaz's Momma also just happens to be my weekly neighborhood walking partner.

I decorated the front of this card with older cutting files I used for cards created in the past; the cupcake made from  Design Street US clipart on Etsy and the wrapped presents are from  Sliceform Birthday Presents Card from Lori Whitlock Shop. Happy Birthday greeting was computer generated using Vagabond font. Make the Cut design program was then used to create a double shadow to cut around the cupcake, gifts and greeting.

The original cutting file for this pop up called "Pop Up Card Dog" also comes from the Lori Whitlock Shop. I used "Cute Dog Digital Clipart" from Elytra Studio to make a few changes to the original dog's head, body and tail so it would look more like a Maltese like "Jaz" and "Polah".

Here's a side view of the card which shows how a simple box mechanism makes this pop up work... fun and easy to do!

'Paw'sitively the best!

Here's a quickie card I recently put together for our furbaby's sitter to thank them for all the wonderful care and love they give to our Latte whenever we are away on vacation. The stencil paw print border was cut onto the top panel using the Silhouette, then adhered to a red card base. An Elizabeth Craft Design die was used to cut the "Thank You".

On the inside... another pop up dog card! I got the original template cutting file  for this card from the Lori Whitlock store, and have had so much fun using it to make a pig, a  Halloween cat, a Shiba inu, and this time our Maltese furbaby.

For the Maltese head, I used the "Dog Collection 2" cutting file from Treasure Box Designs. I believe that file has been discontinued, but there are several other very cute doggie cutting files there. I used the paw print embossing folder from Sizzix' Build A Bear set and lightly inked it a brown VersaMagic ink pad  to add some color to the paw impressions on the inside panels of the card.
I continue to love the versatility of this fun pop up card, you could easily transform it into any four pawed creature... lions, bears, and tigers, oh my!

Time to PAW-ty!

I decided to go with another fun doggie themed card for my niece's birthday again this year.

I decorated the front of the card with three paper pieced puppies.  Aren't they adorable? Cutting files for these cuties are from Treasure Box Designs  now retired Dog Collection Sets 1 and 2. Print and Cut function in Make the Cut design program was used to add the sentiment and cut the bone.

And on the inside....SURPRISE! A pop up "PAW-TY Dog!"  The SVG cutting file for this super fun Pop Up Dog card comes from the Lori Whitlock Shop. I totally love that this was such a simple and easy card to put together and yet so darned CUTE! Lori even has a kitty cat version in the shop if you're more of a cat person.

Since my niece owns a Shiba Inu, I swapped the doggie head and tail that came with the cutting file with the Shiba Inu head and tail I had created earlier this year for my Year of the Dog calendars. And finally, of course I had to give my "paw-ty animal" a festive hat so she could "PAW-TY ON"!
