These are the gable boxes I put together for my dad's one year memorial luncheon hosted by my mom last weekend. The boxes were filled with mochi and shared with family.
The framed sakura paper cut was designed in Make the Cut and cut from plain white cardstock using the Silhouette. This was adhered to clear acetate, then attached to textured gold foil board with foam tape before being glued onto the front of each box.
For the gable box, I used the Jack o Lantern Gable Box template from the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop, enlarging it to create a box that would be large enough to hold a dozen pieces of chichi dango mochi; about 7 inches high, 5 inches wide and 2 inches in depth.
A dozen boxes were surprisingly quick to cut and assemble and we tied on gold bows for the finishing touch.
